Delicious Rustic Ap0ple Tart By Martha Stewart
Ingredients:
Unbleached flour, for work surface
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
3 Granny smith apples
1 large egg yolk, beaten
1/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp apple jelly or apricot jam
Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Open pastry sheet, remove paper.
3. Fold sheet.
4. Roll pastry sheet to a 8/14" rectangle, on a lightly floured work surface.
5. With a knife, trim edges
6. Place on a baking sheet and transfer to freezer.
7. Peel and slice apples.
8. Add in a large bowl, toss with sugar.
9. Brush pastry with egg glaze.
10. With the a sharp paring knife score a 3/4" border around pastry.
11. Add apples inside the border, dot with butter.
12. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until pastry is golden and apples are soft.
13. Heat jelly with 1 tbsp water in a saucepan.
14. Heat until melted.
15. Brush apples with glaze.
16. Tart is ready to serve.
