Basic Pound Cake Recipe By Martha Stewart
Ingredients:
4 cups cake flour + more for pan, sifted
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter
1 tsp salt
2 3/4 cups sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
8 eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
2. Butter and flour a loaf pan, keep aside.
3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
4. Beat butter until fluffy.
5. Gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy and light.
7. Add eggs and beat well.
8. Add dry mixture to butter mixture.
9. Add vanilla and milk.
10. Stir until combined well.
11. Pour cake batter in prepared loaf pan.
12. Bake it for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted and comes out clean.
13. Take out cake from oven.
14. Let it cool in pan for 10-15 minutes.
15. Then transfer it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
