Best Corn Dog Recipe
Ingredients:
12 hot dogs
Vegetable oil for frying
12 sticks
Ketchup or mustard sauce for serving
For Batter:
1 1/2 cup corn meal
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 large egg
1 3/3 cups buttermilk
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. Add 2-3" of oil in a pot and heat to 350 degree F over medium heat.
2. Insert hot dogs into sticks or skewers.
3. In a bowl add all dry ingredients, combine well.
4. Whisk in egg, buttermilk, , honey and oil
5. Combine dry and wet ingredients well.
6. Dip hot dos into batter.
7. Fry corn dogs in hot oil.
8. Fry it for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Take out from oil and place it on wire rack to cool.
10. Serve with ketchup or mustard sauce.
