Glazed Lemon Pound Cake By Martha Stewart
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
2 sticks unsalted butter + more for pan
Zest of 2 lemons
3/4 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
5 large eggs
2 cups sugar
Lemon Glaze for lemon glazed pound cake
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and dust a loaf pan.
3. Combine together buttermilk, lemon juice and zest in a bowl.
4. In a an another bowl combine together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
5. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
6. Add eggs and beat well.
7. Add flour mixture to buttermilk mixture, whisk well.
8. Pour batter to prepared pans.
9. Bake it for 55-60 minutes.
10. Take out cakes from oven and let them cool completely.
11. Pour Glaze over cakes.
12. Let them dry for about 30 minutes.
