How to Make French Fries at Home
Ingredients:
Russet potatoes- 2 1/2 pounds Vegetable oil or peanuts oil- for frying Salt and pepper- to taste Chopped parsley- 1 tbsp (optional)
1. First cut the potatoes into matchsticks with the help of a knife or with a french fries cutter.
All the potatoes pieces should be similar in size.
2. Place the potato pieces in a bowl of ice water, soak them for 30 minutes.
3. Drain the water from the potatoes, place it on a kitchen towel and pat dry thoroughly until dry.
4. In a large deep pan heat sufficient oil.
5. Fry potato pieces in hot oil until tender, this takes about 4-5 minutes.
6. Again heat the oil to 400 degrees F and fry the potatoes in hot oil until golden brown and crisp.
7. Place the cooked potatoes on a paper towel.
8. Sprinkle pepper and salt over fried potatoes as per your taste, you can add chopped parsley if you like.
9. Serve it immediately.
