Martha Stewart's Italian Espresso Granita Recipe

Espresso Granita: Espresso granita is an iced dessert made with espresso. You can replace it with strong brewed coffee.

Ingredients: 2 cups very hot water 1/4 cup ground espresso 1 cup simple syrup with flavoring ideas

Instructions: 1. In a heat-proof bowl add espresso. 2. Pour hot water over it. 3. Let it stand for 30 minutes

4. Flavor should be extracted as much as possible, and brew should be very strong in taste. 5. Strain it through a sieve in a metal baking pan. 

6. Stir in simple syrup until combined well. 7. Place this mixture in freezer for 4-5 hours or  until the mixture is nearly set.

8. Take out from freezer and whisk it every hour. 9. Remove frozen mixture from freezer and scrape it with a fork until shaved ice texture. Serve.

Tips: The mixture can be frozen overnight without whisking and next day remove it from freezer, keep it on room temperature and ten scape it and serve.
