Martha Stewart's Old Fashioned Apple Pie

Ingredients: Pate Brisee (pie dough) 2 tbsp all purpose flour + more for dusting 12 apples, peeled, cored and sliced 3/4 cup sugar + more

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon juice and zest of 1 lemon A pinch ground cloves 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 large egg, beaten 2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Roll out pate brisee into two 1/8 inch thick circle on a floured surface.

3. Place pastry circle (covered with plastic wrap) in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

4. Combine sugar, lemon juice and zest, apples, spices and flour in a bowl, toss well.

5. Dot with butter, cover with pastry circle. 6. Cut some steam vents on top. 7. Seal the edges.

8. Brush with eggs, sprinkle with sugar 9. Bake it for 1 hour or until crust is brown. 10. Let it cool before serving.
