Martha Stewart's Strawberry Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
6 tbsp unsalted butter + more for pan
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup + 2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 pound strawberries, hulled and cut into half
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease and dust a pie plate.
3. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
4. Beat butter and sugar in a electric mixer until pale and fluffy.
5. Beat in eggs, vanilla and milk.
6. Gradually add flour mixture and whisk well.
7. Pour cake batter to prepared pie plate.
8. Scatter strawberries on top.
9. Sprinkle 2 tbsp of remaining sugar on berries.
10. Bake it for 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325 degrees and bake it for about 1 hour.
11. Remove from oven.
12. Let it cool completely.
13. Slice and enjoy.
